My subject for the video project, "Day in a Life," is myself. I plan on capturing the normal, everyday tasks that I do starting with my morning routine, walking to classes, etc. Since the main goal is to compose a video under the theme "the strange," I hope to manipulate the video in order to stress the most redundant tasks/themes in my life right now.
The two most prominent objects in my life right now are music and code. I spend 6+ hours everyday writing tedious, redundant code for numerous classes and projects, which is pretty damn strange. I hope to show a lot of that, altered in some way of course. Also, I am constantly listening to music from the time I wake up to the time I go to bed- while doing homework, getting ready, even sleeping sometimes. Basically, I want to use the sounds I hear everyday mixed with the sounds actually surrounding me to soundtrack the boring, tedious activities I do daily to create a strange, jumbled mess.
I hope to film a lot of it myself. If I place the video camera on my shelves I'm pretty sure I can get my whole room with me in the picture. Also, a lot of my video will be composed of clips that I actually shoot from my own perspective. For the other film snippets of me that I actually cannot capture (walking etc.) I hope to either ask someone in class or possibly ask my friend who already took this class.
